Working Out Isn’t Just For Muscle Building
If you’re reading this site then more than likely you main goal is to get rid of your skinny body by building muscle mass and gaining quality weight. However, other than a thicker chest or popping biceps, there are more advantages a very important reasons to perform a workout routine on a regular basis.
Men’s Health in a recent column gave out four big reasons to weight train intensely for health purposes. They also include a very interesting fact: “While the number of men with gym memberships has increased 16 percent since 2003, the number who hit the weights has dropped by an alarming 15 percent.”. Interesting, to say the least.
The four other benefits that the magazine mentions are that a workout program cuts your risk of diabetes, it treats depression, it spikes your testosterone levels, and it can save your brain from a stroke. It’s amazing how in this day and age most want to look for solutions to health issues such as these inside a medication bottle. Meanwhile, if they were to actually use those gym memberships wisely, engaged in an intense workout routine, and ate correctly the right amount of calories for their particular body types, they would avoid a lot of these ailments. Talking about killing 2, 3, 4, 20 birds with 1 stone…….the correct workout program performed day in and day out, month after month, not only gives you the muscle building and weight gaining benefits but also the health lifting aspects as well.
Ever wondered why it is that in modern times we suffer more from certain diseases that centuries ago where not as prevalent? Such as heart disease and diabetes. No, I don’t feel so much that it’s the type of foods that we eat today, although that is a factor. It has more to do with the lack of strenuous physical exercise and straight up overeating of all forms of calories, whether they be protein, carbs, or fats.
Once again, good old fashion hard work in the form of a workout program aimed at gaining weight and building muscle is the way to go!
