Alli - Does It Help Keep Your Muscles Visible?

Alli, aka Orlistat, which is over the counter version of the popular drug Xenical, is mainly used by those in the weight loss crowd. However, even those that are seeking to gain weight and build muscle mass want to make sure that they keep their muscular definition visible at all times. No use in gaining muscle if it becomes covered by a ton of lard in the process. Now you just became a fat version of yourself.

So, many are asking if a drug like Alli can help maintain their body fat levels low while building muscle. I say no, and here’s why.

First off, Alli is drug that is designed to block 25% of the body’s absorption of digestible fat in the intestines. So, one would think, “Wonderful. It will keep my fat levels low because it won’t allow my body to hold onto it!”. Not so fast. Being that it doesn’t bind to anything within the digestive tract, take a look at some of the side effects of this medication:

*gas

*loose stool

*”spotting” from the oily, loose stool

Why would you want to take a drug that is going to give you these types of issues, especially in public?

In addition, take a look at some other problems Alli causes:

*blocks the absorption of certain fat-soluble vitamins

*blocks the absorption of essential fats

*blocks the absorption of vitamin D, which could lead to in the long term to osteoporosis, gum disease, diabetes, and Prostate cancer!

What’s hilarious as well is that even the manufacturer themselves say that you have to go on a low fat diet when taking this drug. So my question is if you’re already on a low fat diet, and on top of that, a low calorie diet overall (which you should be on certain days of the week, even while gaining weight and building muscle mass) why would you need to be taking a drug like Alli in the first place???

Also, in one study conducted on participants weighing 220 pounds who took Alli for one year, their average weight loss was a measly 7 pounds! That comes out to barely over a pound and a half of fat loss per month. Take into consideration the fact that on one of the more popular areas on the internet to buy Alli the price goes for almost $0.60 per pill, and you are to take 1 pill per meal, and if you eat the typical 5 times a day, that comes out to a total of $3.00 per day, which is $90.00 per month!!! $90.00 per month to lose a pound and a half of fat! Or better yet, $1080.00 per year to lose 7 pounds of body fat. That’s downright ludicrous.

Listen, when trying to keep body fat levels in check while gaining quality weight and building muscle naturally just stick to eating the right amount of calories, and save your money!
