A Simple Workout Routine / Home Gym Is Still Beneficial
So, you’ve got your home gym set up (or at least your on your way to) since the health clubs have gotten expensive and they’re sometimes more like a fashion show than a workout facility. Good job! Now, you just need to establish a workout routine that you’ll enjoy and stick with.
Your workout routine to gain weight fast should be difficult enough to challenge you, but not so hard that you will give up after a few workouts. Your workout plan should also change (maybe every other day) so you don’t get bored; variety is the spice of life and workouts!
Recommendations for a good workout program include both aerobic exercise and strength training. Even if you are not investing in a lot of expensive equipment, you can still get the exercise your body needs through other simple movements and with a few inexpensive pieces of equipment and free weights.
Walking and jogging are great options. If jogging is hard on your knees, just a fast-paced walk can bring great benefits. If you want to jog, start slowly and build up your stamina (as seen in reports early this week, joggers live longer lives). All you really need is a good pair of shoes. If you have a treadmill in your home gym, that’s even better as inclement weather won’t be a factor.
A jump rope is another great piece of “equipment” to include in your workout program. Again, you may need to build up some stamina, but the cardiovascular effects are great. There are videos and online tips on jump rope routines that will help you build up a program you enjoy.
Abdominal exercises are another staple for a great home workout routine. Having strong abdominals helps you with your posture and also prevents back trouble and injuries. Including abdominal exercises, combined with walking, running or stair climbing will help you achieve a flat stomach and great abs. However, sit-ups, crunches, and other movements need to be done correctly to prevent injury and be effective, so pay attention to your form not just your reps.
Lastly, make strength training a priority in your workout program. Muscle strength is vital to staying fit especially as you get older. Free weights are easily incorporated into your home gym and many styles can be found to fit your taste (this is for you, ladies). Starting out with weights as small as two pounds will still have a beneficial effect and you can build up as your strength and stamina improve.
So, stay on track. A home workout plan is a great way to get fit and stay healthy. Best of all, you’re free to do it whenever you choose and your appearance doesn’t matter. You won’t have to worry about everyone else in the health club, you’ll save money, and you’ll be making important improvements to your lifestyle.
